Bengaluru-Gwalior Flight: An Air India Express flight from Bengaluru carrying 160 passengers had to abort its first landing attempt at Gwalior Airport on Saturday, causing brief panic among travellers. The aircraft successfully touched down on its second attempt and the airline confirmed that the landing was safe and uneventful.

Passengers on board reported that the plane tilted and shook violently during the initial approach. Many said the aircraft descended at an unusually high speed on the second approach, prompting fear and screams among around 150 passengers. Some eyewitnesses suspected a technical issue, although the airline maintained there were no faults with the aircraft.

Air India Express stated, “One of our aircraft performed a go-around followed by a safe and uneventful landing at Gwalior. Our crew is trained to carry out a go-around as a precautionary measure when required. The aircraft subsequently operated as scheduled.”

Gwalior Airport director A K Goswami told PTI that the initial failed landing led to temporary panic but stressed that such go-arounds are routine safety procedures. “Technical staff examined the aircraft after landing and found no faults. The plane later departed for Bengaluru and reached its destination safely,” he said.

Some passengers lodged complaints with airport and airline officials after deboarding. Authorities noted that the crew followed standard protocol, and no technical issues were identified with the Boeing 737. The incident highlights the importance of go-arounds as a precautionary measure in aviation to ensure passenger safety during challenging landing conditions.
