A leopard was spotted crossing a flyover near a toll plaza in Bengaluru’s Electronic City at around 3 AM on Tuesday. CCTV footage captured the animal near the Phase 1 toll plaza, showing it moving from the Panak India Company area towards the Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) ground before retreating. Electronic City, home to numerous tech companies, is now on heightened alert due to the sighting.
Authorities, including forest department officials and local police, have launched a search operation to locate the leopard, amid concerns for public safety. The incident comes shortly after a similar sighting in the Jigani area of Bengaluru, leading officials to believe it could be the same leopard. Last week, forest officials reported a leopard in the Jigani region, heightening concerns in the city.
Principal of NTTF Sunil Joshi stated that precautionary inspections were conducted on campus, though forest officials found no evidence of the leopard's presence. The public has been advised to remain vigilant and report any further sightings immediately.
"We got an update from the camera near the toll gate that a leopard had passed near the compound wall. Precautionary checks were conducted on the campus. A camera image suggested that it moved from the compound wall, so we took the necessary precautions, as this is a training centre," Sunil Joshi said as quoted by NDTV.

This is the latest in a series of leopard sightings in Bengaluru. In November last year, officials attempted to capture a leopard near Kudlu Gate, but after failed tranquilization efforts, they were forced to shoot the animal. Other recent incidents include a sighting in the Chikka Togur area, where a leopard was captured after a trap was set near NICE Road.
