The underground line will pass through some of the key regions of the city, including MG Road, Shivajinagar, and Tannery Road. The operation of the Pink Line will benefit thousands of daily commuters as it strategically connects the residential areas to the key areas of the city.
The authority stated that civil work on the elevated section has already been completed, adding that the construction work is ongoing on the underground section. While providing details, one of the BMRCL officials stated that track-laying and system works are going on in both the elevated and underground sections, reported Deccan Herald. The authority emphasised that the operation of the yellow and pink lines will lead to a significant surge in the ridership.
The authority further stated that the construction work is ongoing on the Blue line, adding that the BMRCL has already sought approval for the Red line. The BMRCL also stated that the expansion of metro services will boost the connectivity and financial activities in the city.
