Bengaluru Power Cut: Bengaluru residents are advised to prepare for a scheduled power outage on Thursday, August 10, from 10 AM to 5 PM. The Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced that the 66/11kV 'C' station will undergo emergency maintenance, leading to a disruption in power supply across several parts of the city.

The affected areas include Broadway Road, Kakabar Road, Station Road, Queen's Road, Thimmaiah Road, Miller Road, Platter House, Cunningham Road, Alley Askar Road, and their surrounding streets. Residents living around Chikka Bazar Road, Venkatappa Road, Muniswamy Road, Payappa Garden, Cemetery Road, Park Road, Nala Road and Noah Street will also experience power cuts.

Additionally, power disruptions are expected in Chandani Chowk, Miller Bank Bund Road, Janmabhavan Road, Sultanjigunta Road, Haynes Road, Bambubazar, Dhanakoti Lane, and their neighbouring localities. Areas such as Neharupuram, Muthyalamma Koil Street, Makan Compound Road, N.P. Street, Septings Road, Broad Shaw Street, Palace Walkies, Evening Bazaar, New Market Road, O.P.H. Road, R.No.2nd Street and Jain Temple Road will also face power interruptions.

BESCOM has also informed that the power supply will be affected in Bidarahalli, Pottery Town, Cox Town, MEG Centre, Kensington Road and their surrounding areas.

In a separate development, the Centre has clarified that there is no plan to grant "metro city" status to Bengaluru. The Union Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Choudhary, stated that this would be contrary to the government's policy of rationalising taxation rates and moving away from exemptions and deductions.
