Bengaluru Traffic Alert: Bengaluru commuters are likely to face even longer traffic snarls over the next two months as two key stretches near Shivajinagar have been shut to all vehicles from May 24 for major infrastructure work by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

Commuters who regularly use Kamaraj Road, the Cubbon Road junction approaches or Dickenson Road are advised to immediately plan alternate routes to avoid severe congestion and delays.

Authorities have also warned motorists against violating the restrictions, stating that there will be no exceptions. Traffic police personnel will remain deployed at diversion points, and those entering the closed stretches could face spot fines.

The road closure involves demolishing an old stone culvert and replacing it with a new RCC culvert. The traffic advisory was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), East Division, Sahil Bagla, IPS, who appealed to commuters to cooperate with officials and plan their travel in advance.
