Bengaluru Weather: Heavy rain is being witnessed in Bengaluru with various areas reporting power cuts, waterlogging and traffic chaos amid the Karva Chauth festivities. Basaveshwar Nagar, Malleshwara, Yeshwantpur, Hebbal and Rajarajeshwari Nagar among others reported heavy rain. Western and Southern Bengaluru are likely to bear more impact of the rain which is predicted to continue for the next few hours. A yellow alert has been sounded in several regions in Karnataka. The alert has been sounded in Bidar, Belgaum, Uttar Kannada, Tumkur and Bengaluru rural among other areas.

The city traffic police has also shared an update regarding traffic amid heavy rain. It reported slow-moving traffic due to water logging on both sides of the Khoday Underpass towards Lulu Mall.

The city is likely to see more rain on Monday as well with thunderstorm warnings by the IMD in place. From Tuesday, the intensity of rainfall is likely to decrease with most areas expected to see a cloudy sky and light rain.
The weather conditions will remain the same till Thursday with drizzle likely in many areas. More rain will lash the city on Friday before receding on Saturday.
Users on social media are talking about the Bengaluru rain with some praising it while others comparing it with celestial activities. "It never normal rains in Bengaluru, it rains asterodis and meteorites," said a user.
