Bengaluru Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Bengaluru on October 21 and 22, issuing a yellow alert for both days. The weather agency has warned residents to brace for wet conditions across the city as showers are expected to intensify early in the week.

According to the latest forecast, the city will experience moderate rain on October 20, followed by heavy downpours from Monday evening. The maximum temperature during this period is likely to hover around 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will remain close to 20 degrees.

Bengaluru Weather Forecast Till October 24

The Met Department’s weekly bulletin suggests that the rain will continue across Bengaluru till October 24. On Diwali day, October 20, the sky is expected to remain mostly cloudy, with moderate rainfall likely during the evening hours. Temperatures will range between 30 and 20 degrees Celsius.

From October 21 onwards, rainfall is set to intensify. The IMD’s yellow alert indicates the possibility of heavy rainfall, urging citizens to remain cautious while travelling. On October 22, the alert will stay in effect as rain is expected to persist throughout the day. A slight dip in humidity levels is also expected midweek.

The forecast for October 23 and 24 shows that the city may continue to witness heavy rainfall. Commuters could face traffic congestion and waterlogging in several low-lying areas.

Karnataka Weather Forecast

Meanwhile, the IMD has also issued rainfall warnings for other districts in Karnataka. Coastal areas including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada are expected to receive heavy rain in the coming days. Similarly, the districts of Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Mandya and Kolar are likely to experience heavy to very heavy showers, while moderate rainfall is expected in Dharwad, Gadag, and Haveri.

Apart from Karnataka, neighbouring states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra and Gujarat are also likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the next few days, according to the IMD’s regional forecast.
