Bhopal News: A man has been arrested for allegedly strangling his live-in partner to death in their rented accommodation in Bhopal on the night of June 27, police said on Monday. The incident happened after an argument between the two escalated.
The accused has been identified as 32-year-old Sachin Rajput. Sachin and 29-year-old Ritika Sen had been living together for over three years, officials said as per an India Today report.
After killing Ritika, he wrapped her body in a bedsheet, tied it with a rope, and left it inside the house.
Sachin went on to have drinks with a friend after the murder where he confessed to the crime under the influence of alcohol. However, his friend did not take the matter seriously and dismissed it as drunken talk. It was when Sachin confessed in a sober condition, that the friend alerted the police.
Officers then took Sachin into custody and recovered Ritika Sen's decomposing body from the flat on Monday evening. The investigation is underway in the case.
In another news, an incident was reported in Madhya Pradesh's Narsinghpur district in which an unidentified person murdered a 23-year-old trainee nurse amid onlookers in a hospital on Friday. The accused sit on her chest and slit her throat in the presence of several people at the hospital.
The video of the attack shows Abhishek Koshti, the accused, slitting the nurse's throat but no one from bystanders, including hospital staff came forward to help her. When she was screaming while bleeding on the hospital floor some even ignored her plead and walked past.
