Bhopal Water Cut: In a major update for the residents of Bhopal, several regions are likely to witness water outages on Thursday. The water supply has been disrupted for the past three days due to the maintenance works, affecting the lives of thousands. Earlier on Monday, the authority assured that the water supply will be normal in the the next 24 hours, but the repair works have not been completed yet. The officials have advised the residents to stay updated to avoid inconveniences.
The water supply was disrupted after the main pipeline of the Kolar Water Supply Scheme got damaged near Sankhedi. As per the reports, approximately 500,000 residents across seven zones of the city continued to grapple with a severe water crisis for the third consecutive day amid scorching heat.

Several regions of the city, including Shahjahanabad, Nishatpura, Hamidia Road, Arera Colony, Tulsi Nagar, and MP Nagar, continued to face a water crisis on Wednesday. Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai also visited the site on Wednesday to inspect the ongoing pipeline work and assured that the water supply will be restored shortly.
The authorities stated that 70 water tankers have been deployed in the affected areas to provide convenience to the residents. While providing details, the officials refuted the allegations of discrimination during the deployment of water tankers. They assured that the water supply will be normal in the next 12 hours.
"It will take more than 12 additional hours for the water to undergo filtration and reach households from the overhead tanks. No discrimination whatsoever has been exercised in the distribution of water tankers. Five tankers have been allocated for the Kolar area for Thursday," Tanmay Vashishth Sharma, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, was quoted as saying by NaiDuniya.
The shortage of water has led to inconvenience in Bhopal amid the scorching heat. The authority has assured that the water supply will be normalised by Friday.
