Chennai Power Cut October 7: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has announced a temporary power suspension in parts of Chennai on Tuesday, 7 October 2025. The outage will last from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM to facilitate essential maintenance work. Officials said power will be restored earlier if the work is completed before the scheduled time.

Chennai Power Cut October 7: Affected Areas

Electricity supply will be affected in multiple neighbourhoods across the city, including Pallavaram, Thirumullaivoyal, Mylapore, Poonamallee and Avadi.

- In Pallavaram, power will be suspended in Durga Nagar, TNHB Colony, Celliamman Koil Street, and nearby roads.

- In Thirumullaivoyal, affected localities include CTH Road, Cholembedu Main Road, Nethaji Nagar, and Kalainjar Nagar.

- In Mylapore, the outage will impact R.K. Salai, T.T.K. Road, and adjoining residential streets such as P.S. Siva Swamy Salai, Veeraperumal Koil Street, and Lloyds Lane.

- In Poonamallee, By-Pass Road and Parivakkam Road will be affected.

- In Avadi, residents in Pondeswaram Kalaignar Nagar, Kovilpathagai Main Road, and nearby areas will experience interruptions.

Tangedco advised residents to plan accordingly and complete essential electrical tasks before the scheduled outage period.
