The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has made a comeback on X with a new page after its earlier account was suspended on Thursday. Founder of the group, Abhijeet Dipke, shared a post noting that a new account named “Cockroach is Back” has been created and urged people to follow it. The new page has already gained strong traction, with around 24,000 followers shortly after being launched.

CJP Surpasses BJP, Congress On Instagram

Earlier in the day, Dipke had shared a screenshot of the notice and said, “As expected Cockroach Janta Party’s account has been withheld in India.” The account then showeda message saying it has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand. Meanwhile, its Instagram account is still active, where it has reportedly crossed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress in follower count. The BJP has 8.4 million followers, the Congress has 13.5 million followers, while the CJP has 13.5 million followers.

What Is CJP?

The CJP was started in May as a satirical political movement. It was created by Abhijeet Dipke, 30, in response to remarks reportedly made by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant, who compared unemployed youth working in journalism or social media to “cockroaches” and “parasites.”

Instead of taking offense, the idea was turned into an online protest movement. It quickly went viral, gaining thousands of supporters through memes and satirical posts. The group also launched its website and detailed its vision, manifesto, and conditions to join it.

The group describes itself as “a political party for the people the system forgot to count. Five demands. Zero sponsors. One large, stubborn swarm.” Its manifesto includes demands such as no post-retirement political rewards for judges, strict action against vote deletion, increased women’s representation in Parliament and Cabinet, cancellation of licences of major media-owned houses, and a long ban on politicians who switch parties.

To join the movement, the eligibility criteria include being unemployed, lazy, chronically online, and able to rant online regularly.

Why Are Accounts Withheld?

According to X, accounts are withheld when the platform receives a valid legal request from an authorized authority. This means access to certain content can be restricted in specific countries if required by law.
