DDA Special Discount Scheme: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is going to bring a special discount scheme for bulk purchase of flats by central and state government departments, organizations, undertakings, autonomous bodies and government universities, jagran.com reported.
According to this scheme, government agencies and universities buying a minimum of 10 flats will be eligible for the discount currently being given to the general public under DDA's Apna Ghar Housing Scheme-2025. This means that they will also get a discount of 25 per cent on LIG flats built in Narela and 15 per cent on MIG, HIG and EWS flats.
Thousands of flats built in Narela suburb adjacent to Haryana border have become problematic for DDA. Due to lack of transport system, no proper security system and distance from central Delhi, these DDA flats are not being sold.
LG VK Saxena has issued instructions to build a police post, start several new DTC routes and arrange better water supply in the area. Along with Delhi Metro expansion in the area, work is also underway to build an international level stadium in Narela. Apart from this, there will also be an education hub in Narela.

DDA is already giving discounts to the public on the purchase of these flats, now preparations have been made to give the benefit of this discount to government institutions as well. Recently, in the DDA board meeting chaired by LG Saxena, a proposal to this effect has also been approved. Now the department will finalise the rules and conditions related to it.
Senior officials of DDA said, “Under the special discount scheme, government departments will have to buy at least 10 flats. Only then will they get discounts. Efforts are underway to solve the problems in Narela. In the coming time, more or less all the facilities will be available here too.”
