Delhi Blast Probe: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is investigating the terror attack near the Red Fort in Delhi and the white collar terror module involved in it, conducted raids in Anantnag and Kulgam on Tuesday after leads provided by terrorist Dr Adil Rather and his associate Jasir Bilal Wani
Dr Adil and Jasiri took the NIA team to the house of a particular person and to the forest in the upper part of Mattan in Anantnag district. Apart from this, they also took the NIA team to a hill adjacent to Qazigund.
Raids Conducted At Several Locations
As per jagran.com, it is reported that Dr Adil and Jasir Bilal have identified locations where they met with terrorists and some of their overground workers. They also showed the location where they allegedly practiced operating drones, handling weapons, and preparing and embedding IEDs for terrorist attacks.
Dr Adil Rather was arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Saharanpur, Meerut. It was on his information that an assault rifle was recovered from a locker at GMC Hospital, Anantnag, last month. Dr Adil Rather's elder brother, Muzaffar, is absconding and is likely hiding in Afghanistan. Jasir Bilal and Dr Adil were neighbours.
Jasir Was Ready To Become A Suicide bomber
Jasir also reportedly agreed to become a suicide bomber but later backtracked. He reportedly attempted to prepare explosives, plan a terrorist attack using drones and rockets, and even prepare a drone for the purpose. However, the exercise failed to fully succeed, and he changed his mind. Jasir Bilal's father, disheartened by his decision to become a terrorist, committed suicide on November 16 and died in hospital a day later.
Sources stated that the NIA team, based on the information provided by Dr Adil and Jasir Bilal, recovered some equipment and other items, which will be examined.
