Delhi Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a fresh shift in weather conditions on Sunday, with light rain accompanied by strong winds expected across parts of the national capital. In view of these conditions, the weather body has issued a yellow alert.
The minimum temperature dropped slightly on Saturday. Friday's minimum temperature was 20.6 degrees Celsius, which dropped to 18.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The maximum temperature, meanwhile, rose from 32.6 degrees Celsius to 33.6 degrees Celsius. It is expected to drop further on Sunday due to the change in weather.
Saturday morning was slightly cloudy, but as the day progressed, the sky became sunny. This resulted in an increase in the maximum temperature compared to Friday.
According to IMD, the sky will remain cloudy throughout the day on Sunday. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected, along with winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 50 kilometres per hour. There will be occasional drizzle and light rain. Similar weather is expected across Delhi and the entire NCR.
Chances Of Rain On Monday, Tuesday As Well
The sky will remain cloudy on Monday and Tuesday as well. There may be drizzle or light rain in the afternoon. The sky will remain cloudy on Wednesday and Thursday, that is April 1 and 2, but rain is not expected. There may be some increase in the maximum temperature on both days, but on April 3, the weather is likely to change once again and there is a possibility of light rain.
Meanwhile, Delhi's air has remained in the moderate category continuously since March 18. On March 20, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of the capital was 93, which was in the satisfactory category. On Saturday, it was 154, in the moderate category. There is not expected to be much change in the air quality for the next few days.
