Delhi Power Outage: An electricity outage in several areas of Delhi will further burden the residents as the city is grappling with scorching weather and a heatwave-like situation. The irregular power supply in the region amid mercury crossing 40 degrees Celsius is adding to the misery of the people.
The city grapples with outage issues every year, as the summer season often overburdens the supply system, but the situation seems to be severe this year, as the early months of summer are witnessing massive power cuts in Delhi following pressure on power grids, leading to hours of outage every other day.
Why Delhi Power Cut
The electricity department in Delhi is conducting maintenance, repair, and network upgrade works in various areas, resulting in scheduled power cuts. These works include HVDS maintenance, transformer replacement, LT circuit upgrades, and pole shifting.

The power demand in Delhi has surpassed the threshold of 8,000 megawatt, which is beyond the capacity of the city, leading to frequent outages. Maintenance and technical faults have caused today’s disruption. The supply will be restored as soon as the work concludes.
