Delhi-NCR Rain Today: One person died and several others sustained injuries after a portion of the roof collapsed on cars, including taxis at Terminal-1 of New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) amid heavy rain early Friday. After receiving the information, three fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Following the roof collapse, flight departures at Delhi airport's Terminal 1 suspended till 2 pm, news agency PTI reported citing sources.
In a video shared by news agency ANI, a man was seen trapped in his car under the collapsed roof before he was rescued.

The injured have been shifted to hospital and efforts are underway to remove the collapsed roof.
“Around 5.30 am, we received a call regarding a roof collapse at Terminal-1 of Delhi airport. Three fire engines have been rushed to the spot," an official from Delhi Fire Services was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. Besides the roof sheet, the support beams collapsed, causing damage to cars parked at the terminal's pick-up and drop-off area, news agency PTI reported citing officials.
Following the incident, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu visited Delhi Airport's Terminal-1 to take stock of the situation.

Heavy Rain In Delhi
The incident comes as several parts of Delhi received heavy rainfall today (June 28). The heavy rain, which brought respite from the scorching heat for the second consecutive day, also caused waterlogging in several parts of the national capital.
Visuals show that the Govindpuri area of South Delhi and Noida Sector 95 were engulfed in water logging. Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region) received incessant rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning beginning in the early hours of Friday.

Several videos show that the Govindpuri area of South Delhi and Noida Sector 95 were engulfed in water logging. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the weather for the next seven days in Delhi, predicting generally cloudy skies and varying intensities of rain accompanied by gusty winds.
According to the weather department, the forecast for June 28 includes light to moderate rain or thunderstorms, with temperatures similar to the previous day and wind speeds reaching up to 35 km/h.
