In a shocking case of violence, a 20-year-old man allegedly stabbed his female friend multiple times in Delhi Cantonment on Sunday night after she declined his marriage proposal. Moments later, he reportedly stabbed himself, leaving both in a critical condition. The incident has sparked outrage and concern across the city.

According to police, the two had known each other for about a year and were often seen together. However, when the woman made it clear that she didn’t want to continue the relationship or marry him, the man allegedly reacted in a fit of rage, attacking her with a knife.

“The girl suffered severe injuries to her neck. A knife was recovered from the spot. Both were immediately taken to the hospital and are still in critical condition,” said a police official. Investigators are still trying to understand the exact motive behind the attack.

Videos  accessed by Times Now, reveal the chilling state of the victims. In one video, the man is seen lying in a pool of blood, while the woman appears semi-conscious, struggling to stay awake. Shocked onlookers try to comfort her, urging her to keep breathing and stay calm.

Police have started an investigation, collecting statements from witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations. Legal proceedings against the accused will begin once he is stable.

This disturbing incident has once again raised concerns about growing cases of gender-based violence and the urgent need for emotional and mental health awareness among young people.
