- SIR of the voter list will begin in Delhi

Delhi SIR: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls will formally begin in Delhi on Tuesday. Earlier on Monday, while providing details, Delhi's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ashok Kumar stated that the motive behind the exercise is to ensure transparency in the electoral process. He further stated that the revision process will continue for a month, advising the residents to cooperate with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Kumar stated that 13,033 BLOs and 32,429 BLA-2s appointed by political parties will conduct a door-to-door survey to update the voter list in 70 assembly constituencies of the national capital. The voters will receive two copies of the 'Enumeration Form' from the BLOs, Kumar informed. He further stated that while one of the copies will remain with the BLO, the other should be kept as a receipt, adding that the residents are not required to submit identification documents.
The BLO will leave the 'Enumeration Form' outside the house if it is found locked during the survey. The officials will visit the house at least three times to collect the form.
Name Can Be Deleted Due To These Reasons:
- If a voter remains absent even after the BLO visits three times
- Change of location without changing the official address
- Death of the voter
- Name in voter list in two different constituencies
- If an individual is a foreign citizen
Delhi SIR: Dates To Remember
- June 30 to July 29: BLOs will conduct door-to-door surveys and distribute forms
- August 5: Draft voter list will be published
- August 5 to September 4: Time to file objections regarding the list
- August 5 to October 3: Disposal of received claims and objections
- October 7: Publication of the final voter list
As per the guidelines, voters can search their old record by visiting www.ceo.delhi.gov.in using their EPIC (Voter ID) number, name, or polling station.
