– The FIR, accessed by HT, states that the BTech first-year student had received threatening emails for two to three days leading up to the incident from an unknown sender. The person allegedly demanded she meet near the guest house within the Maidan Garhi campus at 11:27 pm on Saturday. She did not comply, the FIR says.
– The next day, another email written in obscene language allegedly instructed her to come outside her hostel block. The girl showed the messages to three of her friends, who checked the specified place at the mentioned time but found no one there. “They [the friends] told me to relax and rest because I was stressed,” she stated in the FIR.
– Matters escalated on Sunday when she reportedly received morphed obscene photos of herself on WhatsApp and Telegram, created using her display picture. The accompanying messages warned that the images would be circulated among students if she did not show up at Gate Number 3. “The message read that if I don’t come to gate number 3, these photographs will be circulated among students,” the FIR read.

- Unable to reach her friends on the phone, she informed another friend but later stopped responding due to distress, the FIR adds.
– The student said she deliberately took a less crowded path toward the university’s convocation centre, where construction work was underway. She sat near the site where a guard was present, who then called a middle-aged man. Soon after, two younger men arrived. She alleged that the four men forced her into an empty room near the convocation centre and sexually assaulted her.
– One of the accused allegedly tried to make her swallow a pill, which she spat out. PTI reported that the victim identified the pill as an abortion pill in the FIR. “Then he put his foot on my thigh, someone was holding my eyes, and someone came near my ear and was saying, I will kill your child, don't worry about him,” PTI quoted the FIR as saying. She also mentioned being tripped. The attackers fled when they heard people leaving the nearby mess.
- Following the assault, she said she felt disoriented and traumatised before being found by her friends near the university theatre.
– Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan confirmed that a case has been registered based on the victim’s statement. “The case is being investigated with due sensitivity and priority,” he said. Investigators added that they are still working to identify the suspects named in the complaint.
– The FIR also includes allegations about how the university administration handled the situation. The victim stated that even though a doctor highlighted the severity of her condition, the hostel in-charge dismissed her account and made accusations against other female students instead.
– The FIR further mentions that while her friends urged her to call the police and seek medical help, the hostel in-charge allegedly told her to “take bath and change clothes.” The student also accused officials of stopping her from contacting her mother or anyone outside and blocking her attempts to show her injuries to her parents through a video call. “The administration was not taking (me) seriously and not allowing (me) to involve any outsider. I wanted to video call my mother and show her the bruises but the hostel-in-charge and a guard were covering me,” she alleged.
– Police said a PCR call related to the case was received around 3 pm on Monday at the Maidan Garhi police station, after which officers went to the campus. “The case is being investigated with due sensitivity and priority,” said DCP Chauhan.
- According to PTI, the call was made by someone known to the student. Police said she is currently receiving counselling.
- The FIR has been registered under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) including Section 70 (gang rape), Section 62 (attempt to commit offence), Section 123 (causing hurt by means of poison), Section 140(3) (kidnapping), Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), Section 126(2) (wrongful restraint), and Section 3(5) (common intention).
