Delhi Traffic Advisory: Amid incessant rain in Delhi and rising water level in Yamuna on Wednesday, the Delhi Traffic Police announced diversions along the Outer Ring Road affecting traffic movement. The water levels near Vasudev Ghat prompted authorities to impose restrictions between Majnu Ka Tila and Salimgarh Bypass. The Delhi Traffic Police stated that diversions have been implemented to regulate vehicle movement and maintain public safety.

Commutters on the Outer Ring Road were redirected from key junctions, including Wazirabad - Signature Bridge and Chandgi Ram Akhada - IP College Red Light. Motorists were asked to use alternate routes to avoid congestion and prevent delays.

Vehicular movement will be restricted on certain parts of the Outer Ring Road, officials said as per a TimesNow report. In view of the diversions, traffic snarls are likely during peak hours. However, emergency vehicles, such as ambulances will be allowed free movement at all times.

Yamuna Water Level Update

As Yamuna continues to swell, the river is expected to cross the 207.40 metre mark today, September 3, according to the forecast by the Central Water Commission. Yamuna River’s water level reached 207 metres at 1 pm, raising serious concerns as water entered homes and shops.

Cremations at Delhi's Nigambodh Ghat were suspended after Yamuna flooded the area, reported news agency PTI.
