The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory ahead of multiple religious and public processions on Wednesday (Sept 3), including a Shobha Yatra, the 31st National Railwaymen’s Convention rally, and the 26th Chetna March, which are expected to choke traffic across several parts of the national capital.
Religious And Public Processions On September 3
1. Shobha Yatra
The Shobha Yatra of Sant Shri Durbal Nath Ji Maharaj Jayanti will start at 1 pm from Ramleela Maidan, covering routes via Ajmeri Gate, Pul Paharganj, Jhandewalan, Faiz Road, Gurudwara Road, Arya Samaj Road, Tank Road, and concluding at Ashram Sant Baba Durbal Nath Ji, with about 1,500 devotees expected.

On 03.09.2025, from 10:00 AM onwards, the 26th Chetna March will be taken out from Gurudwara Majnu Ka Tilla to Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib.

2. 31st National Railwaymen’s Convention Rally
It will start from 3 pm to 6 pm, the 31st National Convention procession of Indian Railwaymen will begin at State Entry Road and proceed towards Karnail Singh Stadium, drawing an estimated 5,000 participants.
3. 26th Chetna March- Affected Routes And Diversions
The 26th Chetna March started at 10 am from Gurudwara Majnu Ka Tilla and proceeded to Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib.
Traffic is affected on Outer Ring Road (Wazirabad to Hanuman Mandir), Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Marg, and Lothian Road.

On 03.09.2025, from 03:00 PM onwards, a religious procession will take place, passing through Gurudwara Road & Arya Samaj Road.

Diversions will be implemented at Wazirabad Flyover, Signature Bridge, Chandgiram Akhara, Yudhister Setu, ISBT U-turn, Hanuman Mandir, and other major points.
Alternative Routes
People travelling to New Delhi Railway Station, Ajmeri Gate, Connaught Place and Karol Bagh are advice to take following routes:
Rani Jhansi Road
Panchkuian Road
Mandir Marg
Kali Bari Marg
DBG Road
Paharganj Pul
People travelling to Majnu Ka Tilla and Civil Lines are advice to take:
Chaudhary Fateh Singh Marg
Mahatma Gandhi Marg
Shamnath Marg
Boulevard Road.
Parking Instructions
Authorities have announced a strict ban on parking along procession routes, cautioning that violators may face towing. Commuters are advised to refrain from roadside parking and are encouraged to use public transport as much as possible.
General Instruction
Motorists are requested to remain patient, adhere to traffic rules and cooperate with traffic personnel for a smooth experience. Follow the directions of the police deployed at key intersections.
