Delhi Weather: Over 100 flights were delayed as dense fog engulfed Delhi-NCR and impacted flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an 'orange' in Delhi today due to 'dense' fog at most places and 'very dense' fog at isolated places. February is also expected to remain warmer than usual because of the rapid changes in weather patterns. Delhi air quality was recorded as 'very poor' and the AQI was 350 at 8 am on February 1.

Delhi Weather: Flights Delayed
The visibility recorded at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport was 50 meters at 8 am, while the visibility at the Hindon commercial airport dropped to zero on Saturday morning.
At least 125 flights departing from IGI airport were delayed with an average delay time of half an hour, while seven flights were cancelled at 8 am, according to flight tracking website, Flightradar 24.

Additionally, 21 flights arriving at Delhi were delayed, and seven flights were cancelled, as per Flightradar 24.
The Delhi Airport issued a passenger advisory at 8 am, stating that flights which don't have the mechanism to land or take off in low visibility conditions might be affected.
Delhi Weather Today
February 1 is expected to have clear skies with dense fog in the morning and at night. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be 12.05 degrees Celsius and 25.52 degrees Celsius, respectively.
North India To See Rainfall And Snowfall
Light to moderate rainfall and snowfall is expected over western Himalayan regions of North India in the first week of February. A cyclic circulation also lies over Assam, which may bring rainfall in India's northeast states including West Bengal.

North India Weather Pattern
According to IMD data, the national capital had a rather warm January, with the last day of the month recording a maximum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, making it the city's warmest day in the month since 2019. Night-time temperatures were also higher than usual. The average minimum temperature for the month settled at 8.5 degrees Celsius, highest since 2017 when it was 8.7 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologists attributed the warmer-than-usual January to the absence of strong western disturbances, which typically bring rain, lowering the temperature.
