Delhi-NCR Braces For More Rain As IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Next 2 Days | Check Forecast

Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Heavy rains continued to lash the Delhi-NCR region on Wednesday morning, causing waterlogging in several areas, including Gurugram and Faridabad.

In Faridabad, the Mohana area recorded the highest rainfall of 84 mm of rain in the past 12 hours. Meanwhile, Faridabad city received 61 mm of rain, and the Tigaon area registered 26 mm.

The morning downpour brought much-needed relief from the scorching heat and humidity. This wet spell is expected to persist, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cloudy skies over the next three to four days. Residents are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h. The maximum temperature is expected to remain below 40 degrees Celsius during this period.

Delhi Weather Update

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 37 degrees Celsius.

July 8 (Wednesday): The IMD has issued a yellow alert, forecasting light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of 40-50 km/h throughout the day.

July 9 (Thursday): Similar conditions are expected to persist, with the yellow alert in place.

However, starting July 10, the intensity of the rainfall is expected to decrease. The IMD has issued no significant weather warnings for this period, forecasting cloudy skies and very light rain.

Delhi AQI Today

Meanwhile, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 73 at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, placing it in the 'satisfactory' category. The air quality in neighbouring NCR cities was also recorded in the satisfactory to moderate category. These conditions are expected to remain stable, with no significant changes in the near future.

All-India Weather Update

The northern and western states witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on Tuesday, providing much-needed relief from the scorching heat. The weather office has issued an alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in several states today, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi-NCR. The residents of these states have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rain.
