PM Modi inaugurated the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway, a 10.1 km stretch developed at a cost of around Rs. 5,360 crore. This section enhances multi-modal connectivity, linking key locations such as Yashobhoomi, the DMRC Blue and Orange Lines, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, and the Dwarka cluster bus depot.
PM Modi was felicitated by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari during the inauguration ceremony held on Sunday. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway has been developed as part of a comprehensive decongestion plan for the capital. The event was scheduled to take place around 12:30 PM in Rohini and was expected to begin shortly.
“These initiatives reflect Prime Minister Modi’s vision of creating world-class infrastructure that enhances ease of living and ensures seamless mobility,” the PMO said in a statement on Saturday.

Dwarka Expressway Connectivity
1. The Dwarka Expressway offers vital connectivity with a total length of 29 kilometers, comprising both Delhi and Haryana sections. The Delhi section is 10.1 kilometers long and costs approximately Rs. 5,360 crore. It provides access to key locations such as Yashobhoomi, the DMRC Blue and Orange Lines, Bijwasan railway station, and the Dwarka bus depot.
2. The Delhi section is divided into two packages: Package I covers 5.9 kilometers from Shiv Murti intersection to the Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Dwarka Sector-21, while Package II stretches 4.2 kilometers from the Dwarka Sector-21 RUB to the Delhi-Haryana border, connecting to Urban Extension Road-II.
3. A notable feature of the expressway is a 5.1-kilometer tunnel that leads directly to Indira Gandhi International Airport.
4. The Haryana section extends for 19 kilometers from Mahipalpur to Kherki Daula along NH-48 and was inaugurated in March 2024.
5. Overall, the Dwarka Expressway is expected to ease congestion and significantly improve connectivity between Delhi and Gurugram.
