The Enforcement Directorate (ED) continued its crackdown on coal mafias in Jharkhand and West Bengal on Friday. The ED conducted simultaneous raids against the coal mafia at more than 40 locations in the two states.
According to officials quoted by jagran.com, the ED is conducting searches at 24 premises in Durgapur, Purulia, Howrah and Kolkata districts of West Bengal in connection with the illegal coal mining, illegal transportation and storage case. The officials recovered huge piles of cash and jewellery during the crackdown.

Raids have been going on at the premises of Narendra Kharka, Anil Goyal, Yudhistir Ghosh, Krishna Murari Kayal and others since Friday morning, ANI reported quoting officials.
ED Raids 18 Places In Jharkhand
Enforcement Directorate officials are conducting searches at 18 locations in Jharkhand. According to ANI, these raids are linked to several major coal theft and smuggling cases, including those involving Anil Goyal, Sanjay Udyog, LB Singh, and Amar Mandal.

All these cases together involve huge theft and pilferage of coal, which has caused huge financial loss to the government running into hundreds of crores.
