The streak of egg attacks on Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader is continuing as on Monday, senior party leader and MLA Kunal Gosh was attacked as he was leaving the residence of former West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee.

The incident took place outside Banerjee's residence when two local youth approached him and attacked him with an egg. The video from the scene has surfaced on social media, showing a man in a black shirt with eggs in his hands.

Speaking about the incident, Ghosh said that he was addressing the media when two boys threw eggs at him. "I came to Mamata Banerjee's house to attend a meeting. After the meeting, when I was coming out, reporters, like every day, requested me for an interview. So, I was replying to their questions. My concentration was only on the reporters. At that time, two boys targeted me and threw the egg at me. One of them threw an egg. I saved my eye; it could have been damaged," he said.

He expressed concern over the alleged security lapse outside the former CM's house. He said, "Mamata Banerjee gets Z category security, and still this kind of incident occurred near her house; it is very unfortunate."

He also refused to accept the attack as public outrage, accusing the BJP of orchestrating the attacks. "Do not call it public outrage; they are two miscreants from the BJP. I am not fearing anyone. The police were present at that time and did not take any steps. I made a complaint to the Police Commissioner and other officials. But, I want to tell one thing that this kind of incident cannot stop me," Ghosh added.

The incidents of egg attacks started after the West Bengal Assembly Elections results handed a humiliating defeat to the TMC and power to the BJP. It started with Saugata Roy on May 28, following which TMC MP and Mamata's nephew Abhishek, Jay Prakash Majumdar, Madam Mitra and Sabyasachi Dutta faced similar attacks.
