Delhi-NCR Weather: After weeks of sticky, humid weather, Delhi-NCR is now getting a dose of heavy rain, cloudy skies, and dust storms this Tuesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts more downpours over the next couple of days across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Greater Noida. The heavy rainfall in the capital has already thrown flight operations at Delhi Airport into chaos.

Delhi-NCR Rains Causes Flight Disruptions

The heavy rains have prompted major airlines like IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet to issue travel advisories, warning passengers of disruptions to flight schedules.

IndiGo shared a heads-up on social media, saying, "There’s a heavy downpour over Delhi at the moment, causing some temporary disruption to flight schedules. If you’re travelling today, please be aware of potential delays and allow additional time for your journey, especially with traffic moving slower than usual."

Air India also cautioned that the heavy rainfall is likely to affect flights to and from Delhi on Tuesday. The airline advised travelers to check their flight status "before heading to the airport and allow extra time for your journey due to possible slow moving traffic."

SpiceJet issued its warning, "Due to bad weather in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected."

Akasa Air also issued a travel advisory on X, "Due to heavy rainfall in certain parts of Delhi, we anticipate slow moving traffic and congestion on roads leading to the airport." The airline urged passengers to plan for extra travel time to reach the airport smoothly, adding, "We realize that this may inconvenience your travel plans and seek your understanding."
