In a deeply disturbing case from Gujarat, a teacher at a private school in Jamnagar was dismissed after she cut a girl student’s hair simply because the child hadn't applied oil. The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage, took place at Swaminarayan Gurukul School and came to light after the student's parents lodged a formal complaint.
According to a report by India Today, the incident occurred on a Tuesday morning when the school's sports teacher used a blade to cut the girl's hair. The punishment was reportedly handed out because the student had not oiled her hair, a rule apparently enforced within the school.
When the girl returned home and informed her parents, they immediately approached the District Education Officer with a written complaint. After the matter was reviewed, the school took action and terminated the teacher's employment.

The student’s mother claimed this was not an isolated case, alleging a pattern of harsh discipline at the school. Speaking to the media, she said, “Students are severely punished in this school. Even if a child forgets to carry a book, they are punished with 100 sit-ups.”
