Gujarat Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday stated that several districts of Gujarat are likely to witness light to heavy rain for the next few days. The weather department stated that the coastal regions are set to receive very heavy rain, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds. It further stated that the other parts are also likely to experience light to moderate rain. The continuous rain is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udaipur, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad, are set to witness heavy to very heavy rain for the next few days. It further stated that these districts are also likely to receive thunderstorms and strong surface winds, leading to inconveniences. Apart from this, multiple other districts, including Bhavnagar, Surat, Bharuch, Narmada, Amreli, Navsari, Valsad, Botad, Tapi, and Dang, are also likely to witness light to moderate rain.
The weather department stated that the intensity of rain in these districts is expected to increase significantly after September 5, adding that multiple cities are expected to witness waterlogging. The local administration of these districts has directed the education institutes to remain closed until the situation improves. The officials have also advised the commuters to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
The IMD also advised the fishermen to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid any inconveniences. The weather department also informed that several other states, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Punjab, and Haryana, are also set to receive heavy rain along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.
