A seven-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by his mother's live-in partner in Gurugram on Sunday. The boy's 9-year-old elder brother, also assaulted by the accused, identified as Vineet Chaudhary, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. The incident occurred in the Rajendra Nagar area when the boys' mother, Preeti, was not at home.

Police said that Preeti had moved in with Vineet Chaudhary, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor, after her husband Vijay Kumar died last year. Chaudhary, who works in a private company, had been living with Preeti and her two sons, Manu (7) and Preet (9), for several months.

The boys' grandfather lodged a complaint with the police, leading to Chaudhary's arrest. According to the grandfather, Chaudhary frequently beat the children in Preeti's absence. The accused, allegedly intoxicated, violently assaulted both boys on Sunday and in a fit of rage, he threw the younger child against the wall, causing fatal injuries and similarly assaulted Preet.
