A power failure during a music concert of a Dutch artist at the Backyard Sports Club in Gurugram Sector-59 on Monday led to the theft of more than 300 mobile phones from the attendees. The incident took place around 8.30 pm, where police were also present but failed to prevent the theft.
Many people realized that their mobiles were missing after the power was restored. They rushed to the Sector-65 police station to file a complaint. Shaurya Gupta, one of the victims, said that he and his three friends were in the VIP lane and lost their mobiles during the power failure.
The Sector-65 police station in charge said that a case has been registered and they have initiated an investigation to find the reason behind the power outage during the concert. Police officials also stated that the EMI numbers of all the stolen mobiles will be put on tracing soon to nab the thieves.

The incident raised several questions about the security of people in such concerts where there is no safety of their valuables. Meanwhile, police have appealed to the public to be careful while attending such events and keep their valuables safe.
