Five Robbers who were armed and acted as auditors looted Rs 9.5 Lakh from a gold loan office in Gurugram. The incident occurred at the Manappuram Gold Loan office on the Sheetla Mata Road here on Saturday evening, as per the police. 

According to the SHO of Sector 5 police station, Sukhbir, the police are scanning CCTV cameras installed in nearby areas, as they have also set up barricades on all the main intersections in the area to arrest the accused.

The looting took place when employees were preparing to close the store. During the time of the incident, only two employees and a security guard were present at the gold loan office just before its closure on Saturday. Two men, claiming to be auditors, entered the store. These men were followed by a few others. 

As soon as the other robbers came, they held the employees and the security guard on gunpoint and started looting the cash, as per the SHO.  The robbers came on bikes, which they parked at a distance, he said.

The robbery was committed within 10 minutes, as the robbers left the office, employees complained about the incident at Sector 5 police station. "An FIR has been registered and the miscreants are being identified based on their appearance through CCTV cameras. We have put up barricades at many places in the city," the SHO said.

Old Woman Looted Of Rs 18 Lakh

In a separate incident of financial fraud that took place in Wadala of Mumbai, a 71-year-old was duped of her entire savings from three different bank accounts after she attempted to order milk online. She was robbed of Rs 18.5 lakh after a man claiming to be an executive from the milk company fetched her details.
