Gurugram Shocker: In a tragic incident, a techie allegedly strangled his wife to death and later died by suicide after sending a video message to his friend, police said on Monday.

The accused, identified as Ajay Kumar (30) committed the crime after a fight with his wife, Sweety Sharma (28), as per an NDTV report. Both worked at an IT company in Gurugram. In the video message to his friend, Ajay informed that he was going to kill himself.

While Ajay hailed from Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj while Sweety was a resident of Asansol in West Bengal. They got married three years ago.

As per the police, Kumar's friend, informed them about his suicide. The friend told the police that Kumar had sent him a video on at 3:15 pm on Sunday stating that he was going to die by suicide. The video gave hints about a possible argument that may have broken out between the couple.

The police found Sweety’s body on the floor of the couple’s residence in Sector 37, Gurugram. She had a scarf around her neck which was allegedly used to strangle her to death. AJay was found hanging from a noose with a ceiling fan, the police said, as per the report.

The police are investigating the matter and the cause is yet to be ascertained. Sweety’s family has alleged murder and filed a complaint.
