In a major move to boost tourism in the state, the Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, announced India’s first Disneyland-style theme park in Manesar. The National Capital Region (NCR) could soon be home to a 500-acre Disneyland amusement park. The site for the Disneyland-style theme park was earmarked near Pachgaon Chowk in Manesar, Gurugram district. It lies along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway and the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor.
500-acre Disneyland Amusement Park In Manesar - A Game Changer
The Haryana CM called it a ‘game changer’ for development as it will boost social, cultural and economic benefits. He said, “Manesar’s proximity to Delhi, its infrastructure, and corporate presence make it the perfect location. The project will generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities, develop infrastructure, and bring major changes in the surrounding areas.”
“Gurugram is the most suitable location for the proposed Disneyland,” he added. Gurugram is home to Fortune 500 companies and is a key contributor to the state’s economy. The proposed Disneyland project will further enhance its contribution and complement the upcoming Global City Project.
Till now, Disneyland parks were operated by the Walt Disney Company and are located in California and Florida in the United States, Paris (France), Tokyo (Japan), and Hong Kong.
Haryana Eyes For Tourism Boost
In addition to the theme park, the state government also aims to place Haryana as a global destination for spiritual and cultural tourism. The state has proposed to host three annual melas at Surjakund, further expanding the scale of celebrations at the International Gita Mahotsav.
