Intensifying measures to nab the terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam attack, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for anyone providing credible information about the terrorists. The posters announcing the reward with photos of three terrorists appeared in Pulwama.

The visuals that surfaced show posters with text: "Help us find the perpetrators of the innocents' murder in Pahalgam. The identity of the informant will be kept confidential."

The Pahalgam terror attack was carried out by the terrorists associated with The Resistance Front, an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) on April 22. The attack took lives of 26 civilians, including a Nepali citizen.

The terrorists absconded after killing the innocent tourists. While the tensions between India and Pakistan soared, taking both countries to the edge of a war, the security forces continued with their hunt for the perpetrators. 

Earlier, it was reported that the terrorists were in contact with their handlers in Pakistan and were trying to cross the border. The overground workers (OGWs) of the terror organisations were reported to have been helping them. As over 20 days have passed since the gruesome attack on the innocents, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has finally released posters offering a reward for any credible information about these terrorists.

On the other hand, encounter broke out between the security forces and the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian on Tuesday morning. Initial reports suggested that four terrorists were trapped by the forces. Meanwhile , fresh report suggest that three terrorists have been neutralised in the encounter.
