Jeddah-Hyderabad IndiGo Flight: A Hyderabad-bound IndiGo flight en route from Jeddah was diverted to Mumbai on Saturday, November 1, following a ‘human bomb’ threat email. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Saturday received an email claiming that flight 6E 68 was carrying a “human bomb.”
“...onboard LTTE-ISI operatives have planned a major 1984 Madras Airport Modus operandi style blast", the email stated,” news agency PTI reported.

The threat email received around 5:30 AM instructed the Hyderabad airport authorities to “prevent the landing of the IndiGo flight in Hyderabad.” Following the threat email, the flight was diverted to Mumbai, where it landed safely.
An IndiGo spokesperson issued a statement confirming that flight 6E 68 to Hyderabad received a security threat on November 1, leading to its diversion.

“A security threat was received for IndiGo flight 6E 68 operating from Jeddah to Hyderabad on November 1, and the aircraft was diverted to Mumbai. Following the established protocol, we informed the relevant authorities immediately and fully cooperated with them in carrying out the necessary security checks before the aircraft was cleared for further operations,” the spokesperson said.
All the stakeholders were alerted, and the flight was diverted to Mumbai Airport, where it landed safely. Authorities confirmed that all security checks were carried out and no issues were found. The Hyderabad airport registered a case with the police, and further investigation is underway.
“We made all efforts to minimise inconvenience to our customers, including offering them refreshments and sharing regular updates,” the spokesperson added.
