Jharkhand: In a horrifying case of domestic violence, a woman was brutally beaten to death by her intoxicated husband in Loco Colony, located in the railway area near Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The shocking incident occurred late Saturday night when the husband, enraged after his wife refused to cook food for him, lashed out violently, ultimately killing her with a stick.

The accused Shankar Soy returned home heavily drunk and demanded that his wife, Sukurmni Soy, prepare food. Seeing his drunken state, she refused, which triggered a heated argument between the two. The verbal spat quickly escalated into violence.

In a fit of uncontrollable rage, Shankar grabbed a stick and repeatedly struck Sukurmni. The blows were so brutal that she collapsed on the spot. Despite her critical condition, no help arrived during the night. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries by morning, as reported by Jagran.com.

Neighbours were left stunned and horrified upon discovering the murder the next day. Shankar later admitted to the crime, claiming he was under the influence of alcohol and lost control of his temper.

Police from Chakradharpur station arrived at the scene and arrested Shankar. The couple's two young children are now left devastated having lost their mother to a violent death and their father to prison. Locals expressed deep sorrow for the children, whose lives are now marked by trauma and uncertainty.

Residents also revealed that both Shankar and Sukurmni were daily wage labourers. However, Shankar’s chronic alcohol addiction had long been a source of turmoil in the household. Authorities have sent the woman's body for post-mortem, and further investigations are ongoing.
