Jharkhand Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi office, on Monday issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning at speeds of 30-40 km per hour across nine districts in the north-eastern and central parts of Jharkhand on October 2 and 3, coinciding with the Dussehra celebrations.
“An upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge into the north Andaman Sea on Tuesday. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal around Wednesday. Nine districts are likely to experience heavy rain on October 2 and 3,” said Satish Chandra Mandal, scientist at Ranchi IMD.
District On Alert
Alerts have been issued for Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih, Jamtara, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur and Sahibganj on October 2, and for Giridih, Jamtara, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur and Sahibganj on October 3.
“Thunderstorms and lightning activities accompanied by gusty winds speeding up to 30-40 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places over the state during the period. Vast areas across the state are likely to receive low to medium rainfall during the period,” he added.

October 4, Minimum temperature: 22.0 Degree Celsius; Maximum temperature: 27.0 Degree Celsius; Weather: Partly cloudy sky in the morning hours becoming generally cloudy towards afternoon or evening with possibility of rain or thundershowers accompanied by squall or hail.
October 5, Minimum temperature: 22.0 Degree Celsius; Maximum temperature: 27.0 Degree Celsius; Weather: Partly cloudy sky in the morning hours becoming generally cloudy towards afternoon or evening with possibility of rain or thundershowers accompanied by squall or hail.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by 2-3 Degree Celsius over the next two days before dipping by 3-4 Degree Celsius in the following three days, the scientist said. On Monday, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 31.8 Degree Celsius, Jamshedpur 33.6 Degree Celsius, Daltonganj 34.6 Degree Celsius, Bokaro 34.5 Degree Celsius, Chaibasa 34.4 Degree Celsius, and Pakur, the highest in the state, 37.1 Degree Celsius.
