Jharkhand Weather: In the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center Ranchi, it is said that there is a strong possibility of light to moderate rain in various parts of Jharkhand from August 18 to 20. During this time, there is a possibility of strong winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour with a risk of thunderstorms at some places. There will be rain in all parts of the state from August 21 to 23.

There is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in the north-eastern and adjacent central parts on August 21. Heavy rain may also occur at some places on August 22 and 23.

The reason for this increased rain activity is the low pressure activated in the Bay of Bengal. The clouds moving from the Bay towards Odisha and Andhra Pradesh are causing widespread rain.

Jharkhand Weather In Last 24 Hours

On Sunday, it was cloudy in the morning. However, heavy rain accompanied by thunder lashed the state in the afternoon. As a result, many parts of the city were waterlogged. Heavy rains with thunderstorms occurred again in the evening and night. Intermittent rain activity is expected to continue for the next several days.

Rainfall Data For Various Jharkhand Districts

Purbi Singhbhum is at the first place with 1305.2 mm rainfall, Saraikela-Kharsawan is at the second place with 1121.1 mm rainfall, Ranchi is at the third place with 1082.3 mm rainfall, Latehar is at the fourth place with 1080.5 mm rainfall and Dhanbad is at the fifth place with 1058.8 mm rainfall. Dhanbad has so far recorded 52 per cent more rainfall than the normal 697.2 mm rainfall.

Temperature Drop Expected

The temperature is expected to drop due to increased rainfall activity in the state. The weather department has forecast a drop of two to three degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature which had reached 31-32 degrees Celsius may remain between 29-30 degrees Celsius this week. The minimum temperature will remain stable at 25 degrees Celsius.
