Pushpalatha R, the head teacher of Murugamalla Village Government High School in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, has been suspended following the circulation of controversial photos featuring her with a Class 10 student. The incident occurred during a study tour, where the teacher and student were captured in intimate poses, sparking widespread condemnation on social media.
The images, depicting the teacher hugging, kissing, and lifting the student, were shared by multiple users on various social media platforms, garnering strong reactions from the public. Social media users expressed outrage, with some demanding action against the student as well, arguing that he should not be considered innocent in the matter.
Upon receiving a complaint, the Block Education Officer (BEO) V Umadevi conducted an inquiry at the school. Following the investigation, the Deputy Director of Chikkaballapur District Education Department took decisive action, suspending Pushpalatha R based on the BEO's report.
The Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) Bailanjinappa issued the official order for the suspension of the head teacher. The move comes after school authorities questioned Pushpalatha R about the photoshoot. She defended the images, describing the relationship between her and the student as a "mother-son" bond.
Both the student and the teacher claimed that the photos were meant to be private and were leaked, leading to outrage. The incident has ignited a debate on social media, with differing opinions on whether both parties should be held accountable for the controversial images.
