Bengaluru Weather: As Bengaluru approaches the peak of summer, the city is expected to see more summer showers compared to previous years, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Weather officials attribute this shift to a rise in convectional rainfall, which occurs when warm, moist air ascends and cools, leading to cloud formation and precipitation.
This year, unlike the prolonged dry spells experienced in 2023, Karnataka is witnessing a significant increase in pre-monsoon rains. The Deccan Heralad report cited N Puviarasan, Head of the Bengaluru Met Centre, as stating that, "Due to this phenomenon, Bengaluru is seeing more summer rains this year."
Karnataka Weather Forecast
The IMD forecasts light to moderate thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds and lightning from Tuesday to Friday. Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius over the next two days.
In a broader forecast for Karnataka, the Meteorological Department has indicated that rainfall will increase across the state due to an approaching cyclone. While Bengaluru is currently cloudy, no rain has been forecast for the city itself.
