Karnataka Weather: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heatwave alerts for several regions across the country, while also forecasting a gradual decrease in heatwave conditions in East India. However, North Interior Karnataka is expected to experience hot and humid weather from March 17 to 19.

On Monday, temperatures in the northern interior of Karnataka soared above 35 degrees Celsius, with Kalaburagi recording a staggering 41.2 degrees Celsius. In response to the rising temperatures, the IMD has warned residents of Kalaburagi and Dharwad to exercise caution, as heatwave conditions are expected on March 18 and 19.

Rain Likely In THESE Districts

In terms of rainfall, the IMD predicts possible showers in parts of Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Kodagu, and Hassan districts in southern Karnataka on Tuesday. However, dry weather is anticipated along the coastal regions.

The IMD also forecasts a gradual increase in maximum temperatures by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius across Northwest India over the next four to five days. In East India, no significant temperature changes are expected in the next three days, but a decrease of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius may follow in the subsequent days.

Bengaluru Rain Update

Bengaluru is expected to experience hot and humid conditions on the same day, with temperatures ranging from 18 to 35 degrees Celsius. For the next 48 hours, city will see clear skies, with maximum and minimum temperatures likely around 34 degrees and 19 degrees Celsius, respectively. The IMD warns that gusty winds of 30 to 40 km/h may occur in isolated areas of Interior Karnataka, and dry weather is expected to persist until March 22.
