Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the rainfall will reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing relief from the heat. Along with the rain, several regions will witness thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next few days. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences.

Weather Forecast Till May 24

While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Koppal, Tamkur, Chitradurga, and Hassan, will witness heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms on May 23. It further stated that the other districts such as Tumkur, Hassan, Mandya, and Mysore will also experience similar weather conditions on Sunday.

Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall is expected in several southern districts, including Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagara, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Kolar, Bellary, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Davangere, Kodagu, Mandya, Chikkaballapur, Vijayanagar, Dharwad, Haveri, Belgaum, Yadgir, Raichur, and Gadag.

The weather department further stated that rain is also expected at some places in Uttara Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences.

The capital city Bengaluru is also likely to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next two to three days. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 30 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 20 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has advised the fishermen of the coastal regions to follow the guidelines and limit their financial activities for the next few days. Along with Karnataka, several other states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, are also likely to witness rainfall.
