Kerala Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across several districts for the next five days. The rain warning covers Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam, where significant rainfall is expected. Heavy rain corresponds to 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of precipitation within 24 hours. 

Additionally, the Central Meteorological Department has cautioned that over the next three hours, isolated moderate showers are likely in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts.

Thiruvananthapuram Weather Forecast

IMD has issued a yellow alert from November 24 to 26, warning of continued rain and thunderstorms across the region. On 24 November, the temperature is expected to hover around 30/24 Degree Celsius with 90-95 percent humidity, and the sky will remain generally cloudy with a few spells of rain or thundershowers. 

Similar conditions are forecast for 25 November, with temperatures around 32/24 Degree Celsius, high humidity levels, and intermittent showers accompanied by thunder. On 26 November, the weather will continue in the same pattern, generally cloudy skies, 32/24 Degree Celsius temperature, and very high humidity, along with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning throughout the three-day period.

On November 27 and 28, the weather is expected to remain humid with temperatures around 32 Degree Celsius during the day and 24 Degree Celsius at night, and humidity levels ranging between 90-95 percent. The sky will be partly cloudy on both days, with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. 

On November 29 and 30, the weather is expected to remain stable with temperatures around 32 Degree Celsius during the day and 24 Degree Celsius at night, while humidity levels will stay high at 90-95 percent. The forecast indicates a partly cloudy sky on both days, with no significant weather activity expected.

A yellow alert has been issued for several districts over the next five days, indicating the possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall. On 24 November 2025, the alert was in place for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam. On 25 November 2025, the alert continued for Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam, followed by Thiruvananthapuram alone on 26 November 2025.
