MP Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Madhya Pradesh are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall from July 2. As per the weather department, a new weather system is set to activate in the state, bringing heavy rainfall for the next few days. Along with heavy rain, a thunderstorm and lightning alert has been issued for several districts, including Dindori, Mandla, Betul, Dhar, and Seoni.

Rain Likely In These Districts 

Apart from this, the IMD has also issued a rain alert in other districts, such as Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Shajapur, Agar, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, and Maihar.

As per the weather department, the northern monsoon trough has persisted over Surat, Indore, Mandla, and Daltonganj from June 23. However, conditions are becoming favorable for its movement towards the northern regions of the state over the next two days. It stated that the advancement of the monsoon will provide relief to the residents from the scorching heat.

High Temperature In Multiple Regions 

The late arrival and slow advancement of the monsoon have caused a heatwave in most of the districts of Madhya Pradesh, leading to inconveniences. The temperature has remained remarkably high even in the night hours in multiple regions, such as Gwalior, Chambal, and Vindhya. The rainfall is expected to provide relief by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius.

As per the weather department, Gwalior recorded a minimum temperature of 31.1 degrees Celsius on Monday, 2.6 degrees Celsius above normal. Apart from this, Satna recorded a minimum temperature of 30.7 degrees Celsius, 3.8 degrees above normal.

The IMD has stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences. It advised the farmers and the daily commuters to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly.
