Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train: India is all set to expand its high-speed metropolitan rail network with the launch of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, aimed at reducing travel time and enhancing commuter convenience. This new project will be spanning approximately 508 kilometers. This initiative by the railway ministry is expected to revolutionize long-distance travel by providing a faster and more efficient transportation option.
The Central Government is also considering expanding the bullet train corridor to include the Delhi region, Amritsar, and other cities, according to a report by The Times of India. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the Rajya Sabha that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project is currently the only legally sanctioned high-speed rail project.
