Tej Pratap Yadav Expelled: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav reacted to the expulsion of his brother Tej Pratap Yadav, stating that while his brother is an adult and free to make personal choices, the party supports the decision taken by their father and party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. Tejashwi made it clear that the RJD cannot tolerate “such things” and would continue to uphold its moral and organisational values.

Earlier today, Tej Pratap Yadav was ousted from both the "party and family" by his father and RJD patriarch Lalu Yadav, following the appearance of a photo featuring him with an unidentified woman on his Facebook page.

Although Tej Pratap claimed that his Facebook account had been hacked, Lalu Yadav issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), asserting that the party would not compromise on “moral values.”

While speaking to ANI, Tejashwi Yadav said, "We cannot tolerate such things, we are working and are dedicated to the people of Bihar. If it's about my big brother, political life and personal life are different. He has the right to make his personal decisions. He is an adult and free to make decisions.

In a statement shared on X, Lalu Yadav wrote, "Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice."

He further added, "The activities, public conduct and irresponsible behaviour of my eldest son are not in accordance with our family values and traditions. Therefore, due to the above circumstances, I remove him from the party and family. From now on, he will not have any role of any kind in the party and family. He is expelled from the party for six years."

This expulsion comes just months before the state's assembly elections. While Tejashwi, Lalu’s political successor, is spearheading the RJD’s campaign, the incident involving Tej Pratap has put the party in a difficult position.

The now-deleted Facebook post from Tej Pratap Yadav's account identified the woman as Anushka Yadav and claimed they had been in a long-term relationship spanning 12 years.

"I am Tej Pratap Yadav and the girl who is seen with me in this picture is Anushka Yadav. We both have known each other for the last 12 years and love each other deeply. We have been in a relationship throughout these years. I wanted to share this with all of you for a long time, but couldn't find the right words. Today, through this post, I am opening my heart to you. I hope you all will understand," read the post’s caption.
