A major blast occurred at a solar plant near Chandur village, close to Bajar village in Kalmeshwar Tehsil of Nagpur. Witnesses reported seeing smoke before the blast, prompting senior workers to order an evacuation. While most workers escaped safely, Mayur Ganvir, who was inside the plant, could not get out. Moments later, a powerful explosion tore through the unit.

An injured worker said, "The incident took place around 12-12:30 AM. When we saw smoke coming from the reactor, we all came out. After continuous smoke for around 20-25 minutes, there was a blast. Due to the blast, around 40-50 people got injured by stones."

The blast was so powerful that parts of the building were flung several metres away. Flying debris injured multiple workers. Police, fire brigade teams, and senior district officials reached the site shortly after the incident.

Ashish Kumar Srivastava, General Manager of Solar Company said, “The blast occurred at around 12:35 am. System failure and human errors can be the factors. An investigation will be done, and then the reason will be known.”

Authorities first waited to rule out a secondary explosion before launching rescue efforts. A cooling operation was later carried out, and those trapped under the rubble were rescued. The injured received first aid before being shifted to hospitals in the city.
