Bengaluru AC Buses Service: The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is set to introduce AC buses on the NICE Route between Electronic City to Mandavara.
The plan has come up after the success of ordinary and express services on the route. The BMTC officials said that they have been planning to turn the service with a frequency of 30 minutes
Faster than Namma Metro!
According to a report by The Times of India, the BMTC official said that these buses will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes to travel between Madavara and Electronic City. The time is less than what the Bengaluru Metro takes between the two locations.
The commuters in Namma Metro have to switch lines at RV Road station and travel 37 stations while travelling from Madvara to Infosys Foundation Konappa Agrahara Station in E-City.
The BMTC official explained, "We plan to run AC buses with a 30-minute frequency. These buses will reach Electronics City faster than the Metro rail. Metro passengers have to change lines at RV Road, and with trains running every 15 minutes during peak hours on the Yellow Line, the interchange takes considerable time."

However, the official added that the comparison does not mean BMTC intends to compete with Namma Metro.
Prices, Timings
The report suggests that the BMTC has fixed the fare for the service at Rs 110 for travel from Madavara to Electronic city. As compared to Namma Metro, it is Rs 20 higher.
The bus services will start early morning at 6:30 AM and will run till 7:30 PM. The BMTC is also mulling monthly passes for these AC buses.
How many AC buses will BMTC operate between Madvara and E-City?
According to the report, the BMTC is planning to run seven buses in the initial phase and ramp up the number further gradually.
At present, the BMTC is operating AC buses between Vijayanagar TTMC and Electronic City via the NICE Road.
