Air India Express Cancels Delhi-Patna Flights For 7 Days; Check Dates, Flight Numbers & Passenger Update

Jagran Correspondent, New Delhi: Passengers travelling by air between Delhi and Patna may face a lot of trouble in the coming days. Aviation company Air India Express has decided to cancel two of its major flights operating on the Delhi-Patna-Delhi route for seven days.

Flights Will Be Cancelled From September 24 To 30

Air India Express flights IX1346 and IX1348 will be cancelled from September 24 to September 30. The airline has cited operational reasons for the cancellation.

According to jagran.com, the airline has informed Patna Airport Authority about this cancellation for a week. However, the company has not shared any specific details of the issue nor has it provided clear details regarding alternative travel arrangements or refunds for affected passengers.

The sudden cancellation of flights is likely to lead to an increase in airfares on the Delhi-Patna route and passengers are likely to face difficulties in booking seats just before the festive season.

In another news, Air India Express responded to an X post in which a user flagged a safety concern after a plane moved on the runway while passengers were standing in the aisle of the aircraft. The airline regretted the incident, asserting that safety remains its highest priority.

An X user, Amitava Das (@Amitava35877067), on Monday, shared a video clip, writing: "Passengers are standing and flight running, what a safety standard of @AirIndiaX flight IX 1236." In another X post Das claimed that the crew did not announce the takeoff. As per SOP (standard operating procedures), the flight crew announces to sit down and fasten seat belts before the plane moves for takeoff.

Responding to Amitava, the airline wrote, "Hi Amitava, we sincerely regret any concern caused by the situation observed onboard flight IX 1236. Please be assured that safety remains our highest priority, and we conduct all operations in accordance with applicable safety procedures and regulatory requirements. Our crew is trained to ensure that all safety protocols are followed throughout the journey and to address any situation that may arise onboard. We appreciate you taking the time to share your observation and thank you for your understanding."
